White Fish Recipe With Curry Powder and Yoghurt

This white fish recipe is cooked with the curry spice and natural yoghurt. It is very easy to prepare and can be cooked in 15 to 20 minutes.


The best part of this curry fish recipe is that it goes with any white fish such as the haddock, cod, whiting etc…

White Fish Curry Recipe

6 Servings – Preparation: 15 mn – Cooking: 10 mn

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of fillets of white fish without skin and bones (Whiting, Cod, Haddock)
  • 3 big onions
  • 2 table spoons of curry powder (either hot or mild)
  • 2 table spoons of wheat flour
  • 2 natural yoghurts
  • 2 table spoons of chopped coriander
  • 3 table spoons of cooking oil
  • Salt

 

Directions:

Peel the three onions and slice them thinly. With paper towels dry the fillets of fish and cut it in large pieces of strips. Now season them with salt.

In a bowl, mix the flour and the half of the curry powder (1 table spoon) and coat the fish strips with this mixture on both sides.

In another bowl, mix the remaining curry powder and the yogurt.

Heat the oil in an anti-adhesive frying pan and fry both sides of strips of fish lightly until they turn golden brown. Take the strips out of the frying pan and keep them aside.

In the same pan add the onions. Fry them until they turn golden brown. Now add the curry and yoghurt mixture. Cook on low heat. When it starts boiling, add the strips of fish to this sauce.

Let it cook for 5 minutes until the sauce becomes thick and the strips get coated with this mixture. Sprinkle with the chopped coriander and serve it.

Serving Ideas

Now this white fish recipe goes very well with boiled basmati rice. Boil the basmati rice in boiled water (unsalted) for about 10 to 12 minutes. To give it an additional flavor, add a bit of butter to the hot rice. You can also season it with special spices like saffron, nutmeg, ginger or paprika.

If you are a wine lover and would like to drink some wine with this white fish recipe then a white wine (Sancerre) or rose (Cote de Provence) will be a perfect match.
