This oriental chicken curry is a fusion dish. It is served with either simple rice or goes very well with fried rice and pilaf. This is one of the oriental recipes easy to cook and is combined with Bengali style cooking and that is why I called a fusion dish. The ingredients are available everywhere, and hence makes it easy to prepare this chicken curry. The dish can be prepared in about 30 minutes. A good idea if you have surprise guests. You can serve it within a short time and it’s very tasty. You can enjoy this recipe with your friends or family.
Oriental Chicken Curry – Bengali Style
Preparation 10 mn and cooking time 20 mn
1 kg chicken of breasts (cut into small pieces)
4 Tomatoes cut into small pieces
4 chopped onions
1 chopped green capsicum (bell pepper)
1 chopped red capsicum (bell pepper)
1 to 2 cup chopped mushroom
1 cup chopped spring onion
1 tea spoon chopped garlic
4 green chilli seedless (optional)
1 tablespoon chilli sauce
1 tablespoon soya sauce
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons of spring onions finely chopped
2 tablespoons of Coriander leaves finely chopped
In a saucepan heat 2 table spoons of oil.
Then add chopped onion, chopped garlic. Fry them until golden brown. Stir them from time to time so that they do not stick to the pan.
Next add the mushrooms and stir for about 2 minutes. Then add the chicken pieces and stir fry for a few minutes.
Later add the other ingredients; the chopped capsicum (green and red), the finely chopped tomatoes, green chilli sauce, soya sauce, salt and honey. Stir and cover it.
After 10 to 15 minutes, check that the chicken is cooked. Now sprinkle the spring onions, green chilli and coriander leaves before turning off the flame.
Now it’s ready for eating.
We cook chicken in many ways. But with capsicum and mushrooms the taste has increased for this chicken curry. On the other hand the combination of chilli sauce, soya sauce and honey gives a little sweet and sour taste which gives a little change in our every day’s food habit.
