Celeriac puree recipe is easy to make, it is a very healthy and easy appetizer to have it with your family or even share with your friends. In French we call it Mousse de Célery
Celery is a biennial vegetable plant which contains vitamin C, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B, phosphorus etc.
It does not contain calories. It is antioxidant. Raw celery helps to reduce the blood pressure and beneficial for the treatment of arthritis and rheumatic problems it is useful. Celery juice is useful for reducing the weight.If we drink it before meals it suppress the apetite. For cancer prevention it is useful. It contains high calcium which calms the nerve
It is good for kidney. It protects from the cold symptoms.
Quality of good celery: The light green ribs and glossy surface are the criteria of tasty celery.
How to store celery: To keep it in good condition wrap it in a plastic bag or damp cloth, place it in a sealed container and store it in a refrigerator. To store peeled celery it should be dry.
We can also use celery leaves for salads.
For the soups, stews and healthy stir fries celery leaves can be used.
It can be boiled, steamed or used in course dish.
We can use chopped celery for tuna fish or chicken salad recipe.
Celeriac Puree Recipe – Mousse de Célery
4 Servings – Preparation: 20 min – Cooking: 40 min
- 500 grams of celeriac
- 150 grams of potatoes
- 50 grams of butter
- ½ glass of milk
- 2 dl fresh cream
- Chopped chives
- Peel the celeriac, cut it into pieces and cook it for 20 minutes in to salted boiling water.
- Peel the potatoes, wash and cut them in quarters, add these to the celeriac and let it cook for 20 minutes.
- Drain off the water and blend it with adding the milk and butter.
- Incorporate the fresh cream, black pepper, add a little bit of salt as per your taste, and whip it for a moment until it becomes a foamy purée.
