It is important to make this a daily habit. Vegetables can be taken in many forms salads, side dishes and even as a main course.

Where do you buy your vegetables?

The best part about it is that they are readily available in the market. Some are seasonal and some are all year round such as potatoes, carrots and tomatoes. Today you can also get vegetables from all corners of the world.

Yes, I buy fresh vegetables here which come from Bangladesh on a weekly basis. It only takes a day on the plane. Have you tried our Bengali vegetables, they are authentic and you will only see them in Bengali grocery stores. If you can find one Indian or Bengali store around you, then do pop your head inside the shop, you will be surprised by the variety of vegetables you can get there.

Plenty of ways to eat your vegetables

Everyone has an opportunity to make their own choice. There is a taste for all ages and gender. You can have it as salads, fresh juice drinks, as steamed vegetables or as a cooked dish with either meat, poultry or fish. The choice is yours to make!

  • Have it raw with your meal.The best way to serve them would be as starters and salads. Examples can be carrots, tomatoes, radish and cucumber slices
  • Roasted or stir fry
  • Baked in oven
  • Steam cooking
  • Cooked as an ingredient with your meat, poultry and fish dishes
  • As sweets and desserts such as the “Carrot cake” and the Bengali recipe “Gazar Halwa”

There is no end to being creative. Let your imagination flow and enjoy a happy meal. You will be doing yourself a favor as you will be adding some healthy food in your daily diet.

So get into the habit of eating daily. If you can’t eat raw, then boil it or cook it with meat or fish.
